
OEM procedure requires individual Shaft & Impeller Balancing with Impeller also balance din 02 Planes followed by Rotor Assembly Balance. The Balance check & Correction has been done in Single Plane (at Impeller Back Plate) i.e. We did as found low speed unbalance check and as found unbalance was 13951 g-mm and corrected it to 1349 g-mm. We removed the High Speed Rotor and found axial rubbing on Impeller Vane Discharge Tips with metal displaced opposite to direction of rotation. The Rotor has single large size Overhung Impeller Below is some information related to Rotor The vibration increase was almost entirely at 1X with change much more pronouned at free End (Opposite Impeller End) Bearing of HSS. Recently we faced high vibration problem on High Speed Shaft of Integrally Geared Centrifugal Compressor.
